Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 2024

PolyFund is committed to protecting your privacy while ensuring compliance with federal election laws. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to process donations and comply with FEC regulations:

  • Personal Information: Full name, mailing address, email address
  • Employment Information: Occupation and employer name
  • Wallet Information: Public wallet addresses for USDC transactions
  • Transaction Data: Donation amounts, dates, and recipient campaigns
  • Verification Data: KYC information processed through Coinbase

FEC Disclosure Requirements

Important: Federal law requires political committees to report donor information to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). If your total contributions to a campaign exceed $200 in an election cycle, your name, address, occupation, and employer will be included in public FEC filings.

This information is publicly accessible on the FEC website. This is a legal requirement, not a PolyFund policy.

How We Use Your Information

  • Processing and routing USDC donations via smart contracts
  • Verifying your identity and US residency status
  • Complying with FEC reporting requirements
  • Preventing fraud and enforcing contribution limits
  • Communicating about your donations (with your consent)
  • Improving our platform and services

Data Sharing

We share your information only as necessary:

  • FEC & Regulatory Bodies: As required by federal and state election laws
  • Campaign Recipients: Donor information for their compliance records
  • Coinbase: For identity verification (KYC/AML)
  • Blockchain Networks: Transaction data is publicly visible on Base

We never sell your personal information to third parties.

Blockchain Transparency

PolyFund operates on the Base blockchain. All USDC transactions are publicly visible on the blockchain and cannot be deleted. While wallet addresses are pseudonymous, they may be linked to your identity through KYC verification records.

Data Security

We protect your information through:

  • End-to-end encryption for data transmission (TLS/SSL)
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive personal data
  • Secure smart contracts audited for vulnerabilities
  • Regular security assessments and monitoring
  • Access controls and audit logging

Data Retention

We retain your information for the duration required by FEC regulations (minimum 3 years after filing) and applicable state laws. Blockchain transaction records are permanent and immutable.

Your Rights

Subject to legal requirements, you may:

  • Access your personal information stored by PolyFund
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

Note: Due to FEC compliance requirements, we cannot delete donation records or remove information from filed reports.
